BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The sewage treatment and disposal of sewage of the town of Sitia (WWTP) is located in "Outside Lantern - Bonta" and about 1.5 Km from the town of Sitia. The facility was designed and constructed to meet the needs of the next 20 years, to serve a maximum population equivalent 20,000 inhabitants.

The WWTP was designed for two operation phases: the first phase on the current conditions (13,000 I.P.) and the second phase on according to the specifications in the year 2016 (20000 ICS,).

The facility also accepts quantity of domestic sewage from unrelated to the sewer areas. The projected by the Technical Specifications processing option is the system of activated sludge extended aeration (Extended Aeration) while full stabilization of sludge and biological removal of nitrogen and phosphorus.
